Kathrine Basarab, Manitoba Justice, Public Prosecutions
Kathrine Basarab is a Supervising Senior Crown Attorney with the Manitoba Prosecutions Service. She has wide-ranging criminal prosecutions experience and is responsible for the mentorship and training of newest Crown Attorneys at the Winnipeg office. She is a proud alumna of the Robson Hall class of 2008, and completed her Masters in Criminal Law and Procedure at Osgoode Hall (York University) in 2020. She volunteers regularly with the local legal community’s many projects and is a Bencher with the Law Society of Manitoba.
Caleigh Glawson, Brodsky Amy & Gould
Caleigh Glawson has appeared as an advocate before all levels of Court in Manitoba as well as throughout Northwestern Ontario. She attended law school at the University of Manitoba and currently practices at Brodsky, Amy & Gould. She is currently secretary for the CBA/MBA Criminal Justice Section, and a member at large for the CDLAM (Criminal Defence Lawyers Association of Manitoba). In her spare time she regularly appears in the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre/Manitoba Bar Association Lawyers Play fundraising productions.
Monique St. Germain, Canadian Centre for Child Protection Inc.
Monique St. Germain is General Counsel for the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P), where she oversees the legal affairs of C3P, and leads initiatives to ensure victims of child sexual abuse and exploitation, have an opportunity to be heard within legal processes. She has presented to a wide variety of legal and other professionals, including judges, UN delegates, and Crown attorneys across Canada. She has appeared as a witness for C3P before various Standing Committees in both the House of Commons and the Senate, and as counsel for C3P when it intervened in the Supreme Court of Canada case, R. v. Barabash. Monique is the Past Chair of the Child and Youth Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association and the former Co-chair of the Manitoba Bar Association’s Animal Law Section.
